I got the 50g sampler of the dark roast as beans. I hand-grind using TimeMore Chestnut and brew as Americano in Cuisine Art coffee maker. I tasted it hot then through the mug till it was tepid: The first one flavor that hits you is fruitiness. Not overly sour but clearly fruity. Then the bitterness comes. It is a pleasant bitterness. This bean is smooth. Not too sweet. When hot I could not detect any meaningful after-taste. When it cools a bit there is a kind of savory fruitiness that hits the palate. It stays smooth with present and pleasant bitterness. Unlike some other beans, this blend doesn’t go limp when tepid. I can’t wait to try the medium roast.
